Dreams: Spot

I dreamed about Spotlast night.  The details are hazy, Labryinth.jpg Labryinth image by DragonKing98926but I remember I was trying to navigate a group of 3 year-olds through something that resembled the Labyrinth. It was the dead of winter, and none of us had coats on. I kept trying to get the kids warm, and get them through this huge, frozen maze. I was totally freaking out, the kids were crying and falling to the ground.

Suddenly Spot shows up, wearing nothing but a T-shirt, Jeans and a baseball cap. He acts like the raging  blzzard isn’t bothering him at all. He is so excited, and runs up to me.

“There you are! I’ve been looking for you forever,” Spot says.

I’m try to acknowledge his presence, but I’m in a life or death situation, so I basically half-listen to him. He’s asking me how I’ve been, how LB is, blah blah blah..like we’re having coffee. Then he asks if I want to go to dinner.

I turn on him and scream, “Can’t you see I’m trying to save the lives of these children? AND YOU”RE ASKING ME OUT ON A DATE?? I CAN”T DEAL WITH THIS RIGHT NOW!”

At that point he suddenly snaps into reality and says,  “Oh God you’re right! I’m so sorry! Let me help you!”

He then gathers up all the kids, leads us through the blizzard and out of the Labyrinth to safety.
WTF?

  1. Romantic life at odds with parenting and feeling like you’re lost out in the cold and need a nice man who is good with children to save you. Hmm… Dunno what to make of that. Is Spot single? 😉

  2. I am just going to agree with the first commenter-because to me, it is just a freaking wierd dream, no hidden meaning. Hers sounds better. 🙂

  3. Aren’t dreams fun?

I love Labyrinth and my kids love it too.

And yeah, I would agree with the first commenter too. We’re single parents. We always put our kids first. But as a “single”, our romantic life seems to be such a separate part of us. Then that “parent” storm comes raging back, right?

Balance is tough when you’re a walking oxymoron.

  4. I’d say it’s more like quit worrying so much? Life isn’t as complicated as you may have made it out in your head–everything is not life and death?

Slow down and start enjoying life more–have coffee. Enjoy the company of others w/out worrying about getting something out of it (whether it be a hook-up, a relationship, saving them from being fired).

    Just BE.
